JP Morgan Tournament of Champions 2020

The JP Morgan Tournament of Champions 2020 took place January 9-17, 2020 at Grand Central Station in New York City , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2019/20 and belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category . At the same time, a women's squash tournament of the 2019/20 PSA World Tour took place. It also belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category .

Last year's winners were Ali Farag for men and Nour El Sherbini for women. Farag was eliminated in the semi-finals against Tarek Momen , who in turn lost out in the final against Mohamed Elshorbagy . Elshorbagy won the final game with 9:11, 11: 7, 11: 8 and 11: 5 and at the same time secured himself the return to the top of the world rankings on February 1, 2020 with the title win. El Sherbini reached the final of the women again, In this, however, Camille Serme lost with 8:11, 6:11 and 7:11.

The fields of participation in the men's and women's competition consisted of 48 players each. The eight best male players and the 16 best female players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Chris Hanson and Christopher Gordon in the men's and Marina Stefanoni a spot in the main draw in the women each.

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. The amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money was US $ 195,000 each.
