The JP Morgan Tournament of Champions 2012 took place January 20-26, 2012 at Grand Central Terminal in New York City , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the World Series Gold category . The women's tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the WSA Silver 20 category .

Defending champion in the men's race was Ramy Ashour , who did not run again. Nick Matthew defeated James Willstrop in the final with 8:11, 11: 9, 11: 5 and 11: 7. This was his first win at the tournament after failing in the finals in 2006, 2009 and 2011. In the women’s competition, for the first time since 2006, Natalie Grinham beat Dipika Pallikal 11: 4, 11: 3 and 11: 3.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. 16 players competed in the women's competition, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded in both fields. No wildcards were given.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 115,000 for the men and $ 27,500 for the women.
