Dankmar Müller-Frank

Dankmar Müller-Frank (also DM Frank ) (born November 13, 1921 in Berlin ; † February 9, 1982 in Stuttgart ) was a German writer , poet and essayist .

Life

Frank was a descendant of Huguenots , Thuringians and Salzburgers who immigrated to Prussia . He was the son of a theologian and a merchant's daughter and was born in Berlin.

He grew up in his hometown and attended the Paulsen-Realgymnasium in Steglitz . In 1940 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . After the war and his release from captivity , he moved to Munich- Schwabing in 1947 , then to Graefelfing . In 1950 he married the bookseller Inge Petsch, the marriage had a daughter and two sons (* 1951, 1952 and 1958).

He then settled in Stuttgart in 1956, where he worked for the city administration in the area of ​​public relations. He later became a freelance writer and member of the Tukan Circle . In 1969 he was elected to the European authors' association Die Kogge , in 1975 he became its deputy chairman. In 1969 he helped found the Tentamen-Drucke publishing house in Bad Cannstatt .
