Dankwart Rost
Dankwart Rost (born May 27, 1926 in Woldisch Tychow , Pomerania ) is a German historian and advertising specialist.
Life
Rost obtained his Abitur at the Katharineum in Lübeck . After studying history, German and philosophy in Freiburg, Erlangen and Kiel, he was awarded a Dr. in philosophy at the University of Kiel.
He had been with Siemens since 1951, first in Düsseldorf, then in Munich. From 1968 to 1989 he was the fully authorized director and head of the main advertising and design department.
From 1971 to 1977 he was president of the central committee of the advertising industry , then chairman of the German advertising council , board member of the brand association, of the AUMA (exhibition and trade fair committee of the German economy) and lecturer for communication science at the University of Munich until 1986.
