Danny Driver
Danny Driver (* 1977 ) is an English pianist.
Driver studied at Cambridge University with Alexander Kelly and Piers Lane and at the Royal College of Music in London with Irina Zaritskaya and took private lessons with Maria Curcio . In 2001 he won the Royal Over-Seas League Competition Keyboard Award and was the winner of the BBC 2 Young Musician of the Year Competition . He has performed with renowned British, American and Chinese orchestras and under the direction of conductors such as Andrew Litton , Richard Farnes , Martyn Brabbins , Rebecca Miller , Rory Macdonald , Christopher Warren-Green , James Macmillan , Bramwell Tovey , Alexander Shelley and Mario Venzago , has twice been a guest at the Proms and has given concerts at Wigmore Hall , BBC Radio 3 , Music Toronto , the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal and the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris.
As a chamber musician, Driver has performed at the Australian Chamber Music Festival , the Bard Music Festival , the Birdfoot Music Festival , the Eilat Chamber Music Festival , the Cayman Arts Festival and the O / Modernt Festival in Stockholm. His regular chamber music partners include the violinist Chloë Hanslip and the cellist Oliver Coates , and he has given radio concerts with the baritone Christian Immler on Deutschlandradio and Radio France . He has recorded works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach , Georg Friedrich Händel , Robert Schumann , Mili Balakirew , York Bowen , Benjamin Dale , Erik Chisholm , Amy Beach , Dorothy Howell and Cécile Chaminade on the Hyperion Records label . Driver is married to the American conductor Rebecca Miller .
