Chloë Hanslip

Chloë Hanslip (* 1987 in Guildford , Surrey , England ) is a British violinist. She plays a Guarneri del Gesù violin from 1735.

Career

Chloë Hanslip is the youngest of four children. She had been taking violin lessons since she was two. At the age of five, at the invitation of Yehudi Menuhin , she began to study with Natalja Bojarskaja at the Yehudi Menuhin School . In 1995 she moved to Germany with her mother to study with Zakhar Bron . She continued her studies with Gerhard Schulz , violinist of the Alban Berg Quartet from 1981 to 2008 .

As a ten year old she played a. a. in New York's Carnegie Hall and in London's Royal Albert Hall . As a twelve year old she had an appearance as a "child prodigy" in the film Onegin at the side of Ralph Fiennes and Liv Tyler , where she played the " Devil's Trill Sonata " by Giuseppe Tartini . She made her concert debut at the BBC Proms in 2002 and then performed a. a. with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra , the London Philharmonic Orchestra , the Beethoven Orchester Bonn , the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra , the Houston Symphony Orchestra , the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to the composers of the 19th century, one focus of Hanslip's repertoire is contemporary music by composers such as John Adams , Benjamin Britten , Philip Glass , John Corigliano , the 2003 Concerto by Michael Nyman or Brett Dean's The Lost Art of Letter Writing .
