Daniel Anthony Fortson (born March 27, 1976 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is a retired American basketball player who played in the NBA from 1997 to 2007 .

The 2.01 meter tall Power Forward / Center was selected in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks in tenth place and then immediately transferred to the Denver Nuggets . There he already achieved good values in his debut season with 10.2  points and 5.6  rebounds .

Fortson, who is quite small for his position, compensated for this disadvantage with his physique . His emphatically physical game resulted in numerous rebounds and a number of fouls .

After several seasons in different NBA teams , he was active in the ranks of the Seattle SuperSonics from 2004 to 2007 . No further engagements in the NBA followed.
