Dante Lamar Cunningham (born April 22, 1987 in Clinton , Maryland ) is an American basketball player .

Career

Cunningham first played for four years for Villanova University near Philadelphia . He was selected in the 2009 NBA draft in the second round of drafts by the Portland Trail Blazers , for whom he played for more than a year. In February 2011 he was transferred to the Charlotte Bobcats , where his playing time was increased drastically and he showed good statistics with 9 points and 4 rebounds on average.

In December 2011 he was then committed by the Memphis Grizzlies . In the summer of 2014 he was given to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Wayne Ellington . With the Wolves, Cunningham developed into an important bank player and came in the 2012-13 season in 80 missions on 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds on average.

After another season with the Wolves, Cunningham signed with the New Orleans Pelicans in the summer of 2014 .
