Darß marathon
The Darß-Marathon is a marathon and half-marathon in Wieck on the Darß that the National Park Center Darßer Ark in the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park is organized and takes place since 2006 in late April or early May.
The route begins in Wieck an der Darßer Arche and leads first along the Wiecker Wiesen to Prerow and from there into the Darß Forest . The half marathon route leads directly to Born , while that of the marathon leads to the western end of the Darß to Ahrenshoop . There it goes first along the Hohe Ufer for a while, before crossing the Fischland and walking to Born on the banks of the Saaler Bodden . From there, both routes lead over the Bliesenrader wood to the Bodstedter Bodden and to the destination in Wieck. Although the route is flat, it is quite demanding due to the mainly nature trails.
The number of participants is limited, so that the runs are booked out several months in advance since they were first held.
