The Darguner Brewery from Dargun is a wholly owned subsidiary of Harboes Bryggeri A / S from Skælskør ( Denmark ). It was one of the first three German breweries to be in foreign hands.
The brewery produces around 1.5 million hectoliters of beer and 1.5 million hectoliters of non-alcoholic beverages each year. In Germany, the products are mostly sold through various retail chains (mainly Netto ) and exported to more than 90 countries.
history
Founded in the 12th century Darguner monastery had in the Middle Ages the right to brew beer . On May 29, 1991 it was founded under the name Darguner Klosterbrauerei . Due to a legal dispute, this had to be changed on March 17, 1998 in Darguner Brewery . A production plant for mineral water and lemonades has also been in operation since October 2000 .
Products
The range includes products in various categories, including: a. Beer, energy drinks and soft drinks, fruit drinks and water. A significant part of the range, for example the soft drinks from the Harboe brand, is not sold in Germany.
In 2015, the Darguner Brewery received the Federal Honorary Award for its fruit drinks, one year later for beer.
