Darius Earvin Johnson-Odom (born September 28, 1989 in Raleigh , North Carolina ) is an American basketball player who is under contract with Vanoli Cremona in the Lega Basket Serie A. Johnson-Odom is named after former basketball superstar Earvin "Magic" Johnson and plays the position of guard .
Career
college
Johnson-Odom played for Marquette University in college . In his first season after high school at Wakefield High School, he played around 30 minutes and scored 13 points per game. His field throw rate was 45.5%. In his second season he was only a little longer on the pitch, but was able to score around three points more per game. In his last season at college, the junior season, he was able to improve in many relevant areas (rebounds, points, assists, steals, etc.) compared to previous seasons, and was named Player of the Week once, in one Game against Villanova University , he was able to achieve his career high of 24 points. Because of his performance in the preseason , he was elected to the preseason All-Big East First Team . After the season, he signed up for the 2012 NBA draft .
NBA
Johnson-Odom was selected in the draft in 55th place by the Dallas Mavericks , but a short time later they transferred him to the Los Angeles Lakers . In the Lakers team, Johnson-Odom could not prevail and was then transferred to the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA Development League . In January, the existing contract between Johnson-Odom and the Lakers was terminated. In 2014 he came back to some NBA appearances for the Philadelphia 76ers .
Stations outside of the USA
After being briefly under contract with BK Spartak Saint Petersburg and the Sichuan Blue Whales in 2013 , Johnson-Odom moved to Pallacanestro Cantù in Italy for the 2014/15 season . He then played in Turkey ( Trabzonspor ) and Greece ( Olympiacos ) before returning to Italy ( Dinamo Sassari , Vanoli Cremona). After a positive doping test , Johnson-Odom was banned for eight months in September 2018.
