Darren Troy Morningstar (born April 22, 1969 in Stevenson , Washington ) is an American basketball player. He played on the position of the Center . After playing in the NBA for a year , he played with various clubs around the world. In 1998 he ended his career.
college
Morningstar attended Stevenson High School in Stevenson . In 1987 he went to the United States Naval Academy . There he played only five games and made an average of 12.2 points per game. In 1988 he moved to the University of Pittsburgh . That earned him a year-long ban. He then played for the Pittsburgh Panthers for three seasons. He reached the NCAA tournament three times . In 1992 he was awarded the NCAA - Construction scholarship and the title of Big East Student-Athlete of the Year.
NBA
Darren Morningstar was drafted 47th by the Boston Celtics in 1992 but was traded directly to Utah Jazz . But he left after only one game and briefly switched to the Fargo-Moorhead Fever. Later in the 1993-94 season he was then obliged again by the Dallas Mavericks .
International career
After his short NBA career, he first played in Murcia / Spain . He then moved to Argentina briefly, but returned to Spain after a year and then played in Manresa . Morningstar then spent two years in Italy, where he played in Treviso and Naples . Shortly before the end of his career, he played almost two years in Puerto Rico before he ended his career with the Grand Rapids Hoops in the USA.
Coach
Darren Morningstar briefly trained the Tampa Bay Windjammers. But he had little success.
