Darwin's Waiting Room was an American nu metal and rapcore band from Miami , Florida that was formed in 1995 and split in 2004.

history

The band was founded in 1995, with the line-up changing several times before it stabilized in January 2000 with the addition of Eddie "The Kydd" Rendini. The cast then consisted of the singer Jabe, the MC Michael "Grimm" Falk, the guitarist Rendini, the bassist Alex Cando and the drummer Joe Perrone. The following year the self-titled debut album followed, which contains eleven songs. Then MCA became aware of the group, where the group signed a recording deal. In 2002 the album Orphan was released , which also contains eleven songs. One of them is the song Innosense , in which Shaggy can be heard as a guest musician. Being single was Feel So Stupid (Table 9) decoupled. After the release followed appearances with Godsmack , Deftones , Nonpoint and Machine Head . The single was broadcast on MTV2 and MuchMusic , among others . In 2004 the band split up. The album Apology Accepted , which was supposed to be released in 2003, then remained unreleased. Rendini died on January 30, 2015.

style

According to Christian Graf in his Nu Metal and Crossover Lexicon , the band mixes “ hip-hop rhymes with monster grooves and cracking riffs in distinctive melodies”. He described the music as rapcore, it reminded one of Linkin Park , which quickly classifies the band as Nu Metal. In an interview with Holly Castillo from outloud.com , Falk stated that people he meets, things from the news, things that affect him or others, and things that make him or others feel will affect him musically. He was by old-school - hip-hop has been and his mother, the singer had been affected. Alexander Cordas from laut.de wrote in his review of Orphan that two singers can be heard on it, one doing the raps and the other doing the melodic singing. This makes a comparison with Linkin Park obvious. He called the music classic Nu Metal.
