The whisper of the trees is a documentary about a Mapuche - pehuenche people family, in the southern Andean region in Chile survived. The premiere took place in October 2007 at the International Film Festival of Valdivia place in Chile. In addition, the documentary was shown in March 2008 at the International Thessaloniki Film Festival in Greece and in September 2008 received the CFF Film Prize David in the category "Young Talent"

In the summer of each year, the Mapuche-Pehuenche leave their homes to go to the dense araucarias for the harvest . The men climb trees up to 30 meters high and harvest the seeds. For their ancestors it was the only way to survive. They made bread and porridge out of it. Even today it is their livelihood. However, the harvest is now sold in large quantities every year. That gives them a material gain. Although a lot is changing, they try to stick to the core values of their culture. Love and family are at the center of their everyday life. A life without these two pillars would not be worth living for them.
