The football miracle is Germany's largest football tournament to promote school, university and company sports. In the 2015/2016 season, more than 1,100 teams were registered for the tournament.

history

The football miracle emerged from a scientific project in cooperation with the German Sport University Cologne to promote school sports in 2011/2012. In the 2012/2013 season, a Germany-wide record was set with a soccer tournament with more than 500 teams. In 2015/2016, the global record was set with over 1100 teams.

The main sponsor was Barmer GEK until the end of the 2015/2016 season , and HUK-Coburg was involved as a co-sponsor until then . Currently, Das Fußballwunder is still being operated independently by the initiators of fifty670 GmbH.

Prominent supporters include former soccer players Gerald Asamoah (formerly Schalke 04), Neven Subotic (Borussia Dortmund), Christoph Metzelder (formerly Real Madrid), Marco Bode (Werder Bremen), Erik Meijer (formerly Alemannia Aachen), Joey Kelly , Markus Heppke (Rot-Weiss Essen), Carsten Cullmann (formerly 1. FC Cologne), Dominik Kaiser (RB Leipzig), Alexander Voigt (formerly 1. FC Cologne), Martin Forkel (1. FC Saarbrücken).

Since 2014, Das Fußballwunder has supported the foundations of Gerald Asamoah, Neven Subotic and Christoph Metzelder with € 1 per goal scored.
