Martin Forkel (born July 22, 1979 in Coburg ) is a German soccer player .

Career

The defender made his debut on December 13, 1998 for SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 2nd Bundesliga and completed another 163 second division games for Wacker Burghausen and TuS Koblenz by the end of the 2009/10 season . After his contract in Koblenz expired at the end of the 2009/10 season and the relegation of TuS from the second division was certain, Forkel moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken for the 2010/11 season , where he signed a two-year contract. Although he was a regular at Saarbrücken at the time, Forkel did not receive a new contract for the 2012/2013 season. He then moved to Borussia Neunkirchen in the league. The following year he returned to Saarbrücken , where he was part of the second team from the start of the season. On September 28, 2013, the new FCS coach Milan Šašić helped him make his comeback in the third division in the home game against SV Darmstadt 98 , when he replaced him in the final minute for Philipp Hoffmann .
