The Goat Horn ( Bulgarian Козият рог , Kosijat rog ) is a Bulgarian film by Metodi Andonow from 1972. It opened in GDR cinemas on December 19, 1972. On April 19, 1974, it was first broadcast on the DFF .
action
During the Turkish occupation in the 17th century, a shepherd raises his daughter as if she were a man. The mother was raped by four Turks and then died. Now the daughter is supposed to avenge the family. She kills the murderer and falls in love with a young man. Now the father's hatred hits him.
criticism
The lexicon of international films judged: "Impressively designed historical drama with good acting performances and full of dramatic elements."
Awards
The film received international recognition and won the special jury award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and the Rose d'Or film award, where the film also received the audience award. At the Chicago International Film Festival , The Goat Horn was awarded the "Silver Hugo" for best film.
