The restless conscience (original title: The Restless Conscience: Resistance to Hitler Within Germany 1933-1945 ) is an American documentary by the German director Hava Kohav Beller from 1991. On July 19, 1992, the German premiere took place on ZDF .

The film is dedicated to the different motivations of civilian ( Kreisau district ) and military ( persons of July 20, 1944 ) resistance fighters against National Socialism . Extensive archive material ( newsreel ) was viewed and interviews with contemporary witnesses were conducted over a long period, among other things. with the Wehrmacht officers Axel von dem Bussche and Ewald-Heinrich von Kleist .
