Datsik

Datsik (real name Troy Beetles ; born June 9, 1988 in Kelowna , British Columbia ) is a Canadian DJ and music producer specializing in dubstep , drum & bass , electro house and hip-hop . In 2012 he released his debut album vitamin D . He's signed to Dim Mak Records and Rottun Recordings, the Excision label . He has performed at Coachella and the Ultra Music Festival , among others .

Career

After Beetles was present at an Excision concert in 2008 , he started producing electronic music himself. In 2009 he released his first single, Retreat , which topped the Beatport Dubstep charts. In 2009 and 2010 he managed to reach number one with more songs. From then on he collaborated with artists and bands such as Wu-Tang Clan and The Crystal Method .

January 2012 Datsik founded his own label Firepower Records . There he signed Delta Heavy and xKore, among others. In the same year they went on their first tour.

Beetles' first album Vitamin D was released on April 10, 2012 . It contains twelve songs. Two singles were released from it, Fully Blown (feat. Snak The Ripper) and Evilution (feat. Jonathan Davis ). Vitamin D was received mostly positively by critics.
