Daube is a district of the Saxon community Lohmen .
General
Daube lies above the Liebethaler Grund , there is a descent into it. The place has 74 inhabitants, with senior citizens making up the clear majority. Daube has the approximate settlement shape of a round . In the Dauber Fall there is a fire water pond in the middle of the village .
history
Daube was first mentioned in 1378 as Villa Dube . The name is most likely derived from Slavic ( dub = oak). Using different spellings, e.g. B. Dawbe, today's stave was created. The village has been parish after Lohmen since ancient times. In 1547 it belonged to the Hohnstein office . At the beginning of the 20th century, 72 people lived in Daube.
The Daubemühle was a popular excursion destination. It was first mentioned in a document in 1465. In the course of time, the original grinding mill was converted into a barley mill and finally into a wood pulp factory . August Schumann wrote in 1817 that this mill "forms a picturesque part that is far more friendly than the Lochmühle ". But soon this had overtaken the Daubemühle. It goes on to say: “A rocky corner juts out between the two mills, where you can see the raven devils in a new form.” The outwork of the Lords of Daube is said to have once stood on this rock. The former restaurant "Lochmühle" is now in ruins. In the Daubemühle there is a restaurant next to the hydropower plant .
On June 20, 1957 Daube was incorporated into the Dober period . In 1969 Lohmen was incorporated into this community.
