Mühlsdorf (Lohmen)
Mühlsdorf is a district of the Saxon community Lohmen in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains .

Mühlsdorf was built on sandstone and lies on the edge of the Wesenitztal . The village used to be a row village , but over time it developed into a street village .
history
In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time as "Milisdorf". At that time it belonged to the episcopal castle. It later changed hands and was now administered by the Liebethal sub- office, which belonged to the Elector of Saxony.
It is reported from the year 1819 that Mühlsdorf, which probably had town charter and mountain freedom , had 270 inhabitants and 52 houses. The people lived by harvesting in the fields and trading fruit. There were also a few craftsmen among the residents . 1836 the village joined together with the Unteramt Liebenthal from office Stolpen for office Hohnstein . On July 1, 1950, Mühlsdorf was incorporated into Lohmen.
The largest Richard Wagner monument in the world is located in the village . It was designed by the Dresden sculptor Richard Guhr between 1932 and 1933 and is located at the composer's place of work. Wagner had here in the past u. a. worked on the opera Lohengrin (1846) and drafted the first composition sketches.
At that time he was staying in the Lochmühle tavern, which was located right next to it .
