Dave Cousins

Dave Cousins , full name David Joseph Cousins , (born January 7, 1945 in Hounslow, Middlesex , England ) is a British singer and songwriter . He has also mastered numerous string instruments such as the guitar , banjo and dulcimer . He is the founder and longtime band leader of the progressive rock group Strawbs , for which he wrote and composed a large part of the songs.

In 1972, Cousins ​​released a solo album with Roger Glover , Jon Hiseman , Miller Anderson, Dave Lambert and Tom Allom . He recorded the albums Old School Songs and The Bridge with his bandmate Brian Willoughby. He recorded Hummingbird and Live with his friend Rick Wakeman , who started his career with the Strawbs in 1970/71. In the meantime, Wakeman's sons Adam and Oliver have also played concerts with the Strawbs. Another album was recorded in 2005 with the German studio musician Conny Conrad.

In 2014, Cousins ​​published his autobiography "Exorzising Ghosts" (331 + 18 pages) via Witchwood Media Limited.
