Dave Days (real name David Joseph Colditz , born August 13, 1991 in Ohio ) is an American musician, artist, songwriter and entertainer. He currently lives in Los Angeles , California . Colditz became known through his YouTube channel davedays , which had around 1.5 million subscribers in June 2013 and around 338 million video views based on 145 videos. There he primarily uploads parodies and covers of well-known songs, but also songs he has composed himself. Colditz sings and plays guitar and piano. His genres are pop punk, punk rock, rock and comedy.

Career

Colditz began playing in bands in middle school. He taught himself how to use audio and video recording equipment. He developed his first interest in the video platform YouTube while attending Downingtown High School East. Colditz created the YouTube channel davedays on August 25, 2007. The first video that Colditz uploaded there was a pop-punk parody by Chocolate Rain , which was followed by other parodies of well-known YouTube videos and YouTubers. After a short time, he was able to achieve YouTube partner status with 200,000 subscribers and 50 million views, which brings in income from advertising that is placed in front of the videos. He moved to Los Angeles a month after graduating from high school.

In the period from 2008 to 2010, many of Colditz's videos were about the American actress and singer Miley Cyrus , who made a cameo appearance in his video Miley Cirus - Last Song for Miley (Dave Days) in 2010. At the beginning of 2010, davedays was the most subscribed music channel on YouTube.

His 2011 videos Next To You and Who Says made it into Billboard's top 10 unexplored songs. His parody of Katy Perry 's Last Friday Night (TGIF) also garnered attention. In October 2011, Colditz's YouTube channel was one of the most subscribed music channels on YouTube with 1.5 million subscribers.

On September 11, 2011, Colditz appeared with his song What Does It Take on the Disney television station So Random .

In 2011, Colditz was the first YouTuber to sign for the DigiTour . He was also the front man of DigiTour 2012.

Colditz produces his music and most of his videos himself.
