Dave Dear
Dave Dear (actually David Glyndwr Dear; born June 8, 1946 in Romsey ) is a former British sprinter .
In 1966 he retired from the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston over 220 yards in the semi-finals and was seventh with the English 4-by-110-yard relay.
At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 , he reached the semi-finals over 200 m and failed with the British team in the run-up to the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 1970 he won bronze at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh with the English 4 x 100 meter relay and was eliminated again in the semi-finals over 200 m.
At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he reached the semi-finals in the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 1969 he was English champion over 200 m, in 1965 and 1966 English indoor champion over 220 yards.
