David Brent "Dave" Keuning (born March 28, 1976 in Des Moines , Iowa , USA ) is the guitarist of the American music group The Killers .

Career

The Killers (2001-present)

Through a newspaper ad that Keuning advertised in the Las Vegas Weekly , he was looking for new members for a band and so in 2001 laid the foundation for The Killers . Shortly thereafter, Brandon Flowers , the group's current singer , replied to the ad. After the two began to rehearse, the other members of the band today, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci , join them. The band's first demo tapes also contained the later hit "Mr. Brightside", for which Keuning wrote the guitar accompaniment even before he met Flowers. This guitar riff was voted number 9 in 2010 in the ranking "The 50 best riffs of the 21st century so far" by the best-selling guitar magazine in Europe, "Total Guitar".

other projects

Keuning stated in several interviews that he composed some songs that he is considering for a release for a solo project. On the Into The Night Tour of the American music group Imagine Dragons , he played the final track "Nothing Left To Say" at the side of the band's guitarist, Wayne Sermon.

Private

Keuning grew up in Pella , Iowa. Even before starting school at Pella Community High School, where he was active in the jazz band, he played guitar. In 2000 he moved to Las Vegas . First he worked there in a branch of the fashion label Banana Republic .

He has one son, Kyler Keuning, who was born in 2005. Keuning is currently commuting between San Diego and Las Vegas.
