Dave Donaldson

Dave L. Donaldson (born June 4, 1978 ) is a British - Canadian economist .

Career, research and teaching

Donaldson studied physics at the University of Oxford between 1997 and 2001 , which he graduated with a Masters degree . He then moved to the London School of Economics and Political Science , where he completed his Master of Science degree in economics in 2003. In 2009 he graduated from the college with a Ph.D. in economics.

After completing his studies, Donaldson went to Boston as an assistant professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . From 2013 he was Associate Professor at MIT, and from the following year at Stanford University . In 2017, he accepted a call from MIT to become a full professor . He also visited Harvard University and Humboldt University in Berlin, among others .

Donaldson has received several awards for his work. In 2017 he received the John Bates Clark Medal of the American Economic Association , in the same year he became a Fellow of the Econometric Society . In 2020 Donaldson was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

Donaldson deals with various aspects of macroeconomics in his work , including the increase in welfare and economic growth through international trade and the abolition of trade barriers, transport economics as well as economic issues of climate change and safeguarding against hunger risks and food security.
