Dave Travis (actually David Howard Travis; born September 9, 1945 in Twickenham ) is a former British javelin thrower .

In 1966 he started sixth for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston , and in 1967 he won the Universiade .

At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 he was eliminated from the qualification, and at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 he was ninth.

1970 won the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh . At the European Championships in Helsinki in 1971 and at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he did not get past the first round.

In 1974 he won silver at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and was eleventh at the European Championships in Rome .

He was English champion seven times (1965, 1968, 1970–1974). He set his personal best of 83.44 m on August 2, 1970 in Zurich .
