Dave Wolpe
David "Dave" Wolpe (* 16th July 1936 in San Bernardino ), California is an American trombonist of modern jazz , the mainly as arranger has emerged.
Live and act
Wolpe was stationed as a member of the American armed forces in the Stuttgart area from 1960 to 1964 ; During this time he played with the bands of Conny Jackel and Wolfgang Trattner as well as with the Modern Jazz Crew . After returning to the United States, he was a member of The Norad Commanders of the North American Air Defense Command until 1968 , with whom he recorded annual albums. Then he first worked as a studio musician ; In the late 1980s he was the lead trombonist in the Les Brown big band . In the next few years he made a name for himself as an arranger and wrote for Ray Anthony , the Falconaires , the Glen Miller Orchestra, Terry Myers , Tony Banks , Joe Battaglia , William Noll and Madeleine Vergari . His arrangements have also been recorded by Sabu Martinez , the Swiss Jazz Orchestra , the University of Florida Jazz Band and numerous other performers and are also available in stores.
