Wolfgang Trattner
Wolfgang Trattner (born December 18, 1941 in Konstanz , † March 30, 1999 in Weinstadt-Großheppach ) was a German jazz trumpeter . The soloist of the Stuttgart Dixieland Allstars was considered one of the best German swing trumpeters .
Trattner was self-taught on his instrument ; he started at the age of 16 with the Kids of Dixieland . In 1964 he won first prize at the amateur jazz festival in Düsseldorf. The trained printer and owner of an offset printer played in the Darktown Jazz Band , in the Peter Stuyvesant International Jazz Orchestra led by George Gruntz , with the Modern Jazz Crew and with his own quintet, but also in numerous hot jazz bands as well as with Paul Schwarz and Wolfgang Dauner . His play is also on albums with the Hot Dogs , the Windy City Seven and theDice of Dixie Crew ( 1st Throw , 1990) documented.
