Dave de Jong (born April 26, 1975 in Rotterdam ) is a former Dutch football player and current coach . He played in the position of central defender as well as in defensive midfield.

Dave de Jong began his career in the youth teams of Cambuur Leeuwarden , FC Zwolle , CSV Zwolle and TOP Oss , before playing in the Dutch honor division for Willem II Tilburg in 1997 . Other clubs were De Graafschap , NAC Breda , KV Mechelen , Dalian Shide and VfL Osnabrück . In 2007 he switched to Dutch amateur football. In 2011 he ended his active career. He then worked as a trainer in the amateur field.

Dave de Jong caused a nationwide sensation when he scored the 2-2 equalizer in the DFB-Pokal game of VfL Osnabrück against SpVgg Greuther Fürth on August 21, 2005. He hit the ball with his right foot on the left behind the standing leg, a so-called Rabona goal.

Dave de Jong is the son of national player Theo de Jong .
