David Gregory Baldacci (born August 5, 1960 in Richmond , Virginia ) is an American bestselling author.

Life

Baldacci grew up in Richmond, Virginia, the son of a mechanic and a secretary. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University political science and at the University of Virginia law .

In addition to his studies, he worked as a vacuum cleaner salesman, steam boiler cleaner, security guard and designer. After graduating, he worked as a criminal defense attorney and business lawyer in Washington DC for nine years, writing short stories and scripts before devoting himself entirely to writing. His books have been translated into 37 languages ​​and are sold in over 80 countries. It has so far reached a total circulation of over 40 million copies worldwide.

Baldacci also writes screenplays for television and is involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society , the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation , the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and the Virginia Commonwealth University , among others .

His first work The President was filmed in 1997 with Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman under the original book title Absolute Power . An American TV series that was broadcast from June to August 2013 on the cable and satellite channel TNT under the title King & Maxwell is based on the books about the two protagonists Sean King and Michelle Maxwell .

He now lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife Michelle, daughter Spencer, and son Collin .
