David Blue (musician)
David Blue (born February 18, 1941 in Providence , Rhode Island , † December 2, 1982 in New York City ; actually Stuart David Cohen ) was an American singer , guitarist and actor .
Life
David Blue was part of the Greenwich Village folk music scene that included artists such as Bob Dylan and Phil Ochs . Well known is his song Outlaw Man , which he wrote for the Eagles and which appeared on their album Desperado in 1973 . He himself brought out seven studio albums. He also took part in Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue .
As an actor, David Blue had roles in Wim Wenders ' The American Friend and Neil Young's comedy film Human Highway, among others .
David Blue died at the age of 41 of a heart attack while jogging in Washington Square Park .
