David Fahrner
David Fahrner (born January 15, 1895 in Freudenstadt ; † October 5, 1962 there ) was a German sculptor.
Life
David Fahrner was a visual artist who mainly created sculptures and reliefs. He completed an apprenticeship at the Stuttgart metal goods factory Meyer und Wilhelm, then worked at the Stuttgart art stamping institute, trained as an engraver and stamp in Schwäbisch Gmünd and then returned to Freudenstadt as a freelance artist. In the thirties he also worked for the Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik in Geislingen an der Steige. Fahrner was represented at the Great German Art Exhibition from 1939 to 1944 . In 1957 he became a founding member of the Freudenstadt artist group "Das Quadrat".
Fahrner designed a variety of plaques, reliefs, sculptures and sculptures. As far as can be seen, there is no catalog raisonné.

War memorial Worms-Neuhausen
This monument was erected in 1937. Donated by Ludwig Heyl .
"Seated"
After 1945. Memorial for those who died in both world wars. Altensteig, Walddorf, Calw district.
Neptune Fountain Tübingen
In 1947, the Neptune figure on the market fountain in Tübingen was reconstructed by Fahrner. The metal was melted down from French weapons. The plastic was poured in the WMF.
“Venus” in Freudenstadt
The Venus is a bronze figure of 1954. It was created in memory of the destruction and reconstruction of Freudenstadt after the Second World War. It is also known as "Mortgage Venus" because the reconstruction of the city involved considerable debts. The figure reaches into a better future with one hand and pushes away the evil of the past with the other.
Barbel fountain
Post war period. Freudenstadt. The barbel , a trout-like fish, is Freudenstadt's heraldic animal.
Kneeling female figure
1959, bronze, Betzingen cemetery near the Fallen Memorial. Oskar Kalbfell's daughter Ingrid is said to have been the model for the figure

1960, Aalen, in front of the St. Johann cemetery.

"Dancing"
1945. The sculptor portrayed the politician Hermann Saam . Date of origin unknown.
Bust of Theodor Heuss
In 1961, a bust of Fahrner was made in the Strassacker art foundry for the Reutlingen Business School, which was named after Theodor Heuss on June 7, 1961 . Heuss himself wrote about it: “Yesterday morning (with Mrs. Steins) in Süßen near Göppingen, bronze foundry, where the bust (by me) was cast for Reutlingen - they want to give me one too. (It is not 'brilliant', but very solid). Now that's one thing that I liked. "
A copy of this bust was donated to the city of Reutlingen from the estate of the former Prime Minister Gebhard Müller. It is now in the town hall.
Medals and commemorative coins
- 1924: Medal for services to the Zeppelin-Eckener donation . Cast bronze medal. Ecker's head to the left / Unclothed man in front of stylized waves and airship.
- 1930: End of the occupation of the Rhineland, silver medal and bronze medal 1930. Front two clapping hands, back two bells and a poem:
Hear what the bell on the Rhine speaks
Children and grandchildren don't forget!
What we will do in twelve bitter years
because some broke in pain
suffered in the Rhineland
in white and black disgrace
Let it be a sacred legacy to us

- 1931: University of Frankfurt am Main, Faculty of Economics, Faculty Medal.
- 1953: German Ski Championships Baiersbronn, one-sided cast bronze medal.
- 1960: Commemorative medal for the wedding of Diane Princess of France and Carl Herzog von Württemberg. Reliefs of the married couple, looking to the left, she behind, he in the foreground, covering half of them. Back of the crown, Württemberg coat of arms, French coat of arms with three lilies.
