David H. Bidder (born November 1, 1959 in Boise , Idaho ) is an American politician and mayor of his hometown Boise since January 6, 2004. He is a member of the Democratic Party .

Bidder grew up in Boise and attended Bishop Kelly High School until 1978 . He received his Bachelor at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota and a degree in law at the University of Idaho . As a result, he worked as a lawyer for the Bonner County , among others , worked as an expert on land use in the prosecutor's office in Ada County and finally opened a private law firm.

After his parents were killed in a car accident in 1999, he was nominated to succeed his father, Pat Bidder, in the Idaho House of Representatives . He was re-elected in 2000 and 2002. On January 6, 2004, he succeeded acting incumbent Carolyn Terteling-Payne as Mayor of Boise, after he had prevailed in the election against Chuck Winder and Vaughn Killeen. In 2007 he was re-elected against Jim Tibbs.

Bidder supports aid projects such as B. Catholic Charities of Idaho social action committee . He is married.
