David Jackson 2009

David Nicholas George Jackson (born April 15, 1947 in Stamford , Lincolnshire ), nicknamed Jaxon , is a British saxophonist , flutist and composer who can be assigned to progressive rock .

Life

Jackson is best known for his work with the band Van der Graaf Generator (VdGG), of which he was a member for most of the 1970s and from their reunification in 2005. In September 2006 it was announced that Jackson was leaving VdGG. In addition to his work with Van der Graaf Generator, he has also worked with other musicians (such as with other members of VdGG as the The Long Hello project).

He attended the University of Dundee and was a math teacher teaching primary school students in the UK. He also worked with the physically and mentally handicapped and tried to give them the opportunity to make music with the help of a special method called a soundbeam .
