David Lochte (born December 26, 1871 in Magdeburg , † December 11, 1935 in Hamburg ) was President of the Reich Railway Directorate in Mainz from December 9, 1924 to September 30, 1932 , and then President of the Reich Railway Directorate in Altona until his death .

Lochte studied at the Universities of Lausanne , Leipzig and Berlin law . He began his professional life in the judicial service, but switched to the Prussian State Railways on December 17, 1896 , where he initially worked in the Cologne Railway Directorate . Positions in the railroad divisions of Magdeburg and Hanover , Kassel and Frankfurt followed . First Assessor he became in 1906 the Council and undertook a study tour to the USA . In 1919 he went to the railway administration in Berlin, which was connected with promotion to the senior council . In 1924 he became a department director in the Reichsbahn Central Office and Reichsbahndirektor . On October 22nd of the same year he became President of the Mainz Railway Directorate. His tenure there was the French occupation of the Rhineland , the associated Regiebetrieb and the resulting chaos. But expansion measures in the area of ​​the directorate also took place under his leadership, such as the slitting of the Mainz railway tunnel . Lochte moved from Mainz in 1932 to the Reichsbahndirektion Altona in the same position.
