Sir David Norman Reddaway KCMG , MBE (born April 26, 1953 in Ottawa ) is a British diplomat .

Life

David Reddaway was from 1975 to 1977 in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office clerk for the German Democratic Republic and the Council of Europe. From 1977 to 1980 he was the third-class embassy secretary in Tehran, later second. From 1980 to 1984 he was first class secretary of the embassy in Madrid . From 1984 to 1986 he was a clerk in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for the Falkland Islands . From 1986 to 1988 he was Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. From 1988 to 1990 he was first class Secretary of the Embassy in New Delhi . From 1990 to 1993 he was in Tehran d'affaires . From 1993 to 1997 he was envoy and deputy head of the embassy in Buenos Aires . From 1997 to 1999 he headed the Southern Europe Department in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. From 1999 to 2001 he was Head of Administration in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. In 2002 he was special envoy for Afghanistan in London. From 2002 to 1997 he was a visiting fellow at the University of Harvard . From 2003 to 2006 he was High Commissioner in Ottawa . From 2006 to 2009 he was ambassador to Dublin . He has been the ambassador in Ankara since 2009.
