David Reynolds (* 20th century ) is an American screenwriter and actor , who in 2004 in the category "Best Original Screenplay" for the animated film Finding Nemo for an Oscar nominated and Annie Award could win.

Life

Reynolds made his acting debut in the 1986 comedy film One More Saturday Night . The film outlines the life of young people on a Saturday night in a small town in Minnesota . In the same year he played a minor role in the comedy Soul Man . In 1988 he appeared again as an actor in two different television series.

Reynolds wrote the script for the show Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 1993 and 1994 for 20 episodes each. In 1998 he first worked for the Walt Disney Company , where he worked on the film Mulan , where he worked as a screenwriter and provided material for further stories. For the cartoon A Kingdom for a Lama by the Walt Disney Company from 2000, he then wrote the screenplay with Mark Dindal and Chris Williams . Another collaboration with the Walt Disney Studios was the cartoon Atlantis - The Secret of the Lost City (2001) and the sequel to the film Atlantis - The Return (2003).

The animated film Finding Nemo by Pixar Animations Studios from 2003, for which Reynolds wrote the screenplay with Andrew Stanton and Bob Peterson , was the author's greatest success to date. An Oscar nomination in 2004 in the category "Best Original Screenplay" was the reward. The Oscar went to Sofia Coppola and her drama Lost in Translation . However, the Annie Award went to the aforementioned trio. In addition, the film has received countless awards and nominations, and the work of the screenwriters also resulted in numerous nominations for film awards.

Reynolds is married and has two daughters. The family lives in Los Angeles .
