David Smith (hammer thrower)
David Smith ( David W. "Dave" Smith ; born November 2, 1974 in Grimsby ) is a former British hammer thrower .
At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , he was eliminated from the qualification. In 1998 he was starting for England at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur fifth.
In 1996 he became English champion. He set his personal best of 75.10 m on May 27, 1996 in Bedford .
