David Storrier (born October 25, 1872 in Arbroath , Scotland , † January 27, 1910 ibid) was a Scottish football player .

Career and life

David Storrier was born in Arbroath on the east coast of Scotland in October 1872 . He began his football career in his hometown with FC Arbroath . From 1891 he played in the first team of the club, which, however, did not yet take part in the official game operation of the Scottish Football League . In the summer of 1893 Storrier moved to England for Everton FC . He played for the Toffees for a total of five years, the greatest success being in 1897 reaching the English Cup final, which was lost to Aston Villa . One year after the cup defeat, Storrier signed a contract with the reigning Scottish champions Celtic Glasgow in May 1898 . The Glaswegians paid a record transfer fee of £ 320 for this. He made his debut for Celtic on August 20, 1898 in the league game of the 1898/99 season against Third Lanark . With Celtic he was twice cup winner. In 1901 he moved to Dundee FC for a year . While on vacation he met Bob Hunter the coach of Millwall Athletic (now known as Millwall FC) whereupon he moved. After two years in London , he returned to Arbroath.

In 1899 Storrier made three caps for Scotland . He made his debut on March 18 against Wales .

He died in Arbroath on January 27, 1910 at the age of 37.
