David Szlezak (born April 19, 1974 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian handball player. The married graduate in business information systems is 1.83 m long and weighs 82 kg. He was the captain of the Austrian national handball team . He played his first international game in August 1996 against Hungary under the then coach Niko Marković . He played his 100th international match against Poland in his hometown of Krems. He has made a total of 157 international matches for Austria. Szlezak is left-handed and played in the right winger position .
After the 2007/08 season with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen , Szlezak ended his active career and moved to the club's office. In November 2008, however, Szlezak was reactivated by TSV Hannover-Burgdorf , as TSV had injury concerns on the right wing position. There he played again until the end of the year.
Szlezak has been working in marketing for the European Handball Federation since 2010 . In September 2016 he took over the management of EHF Marketing GmbH.
