David Taylor (born September 29, 1883 in Govan , † August 6, 1949 in Bridge of Allan ) was a Scottish football player and coach. In his playing career, he won the FA Cup twice in England and two championships, one each in England and Scotland .

Career

David Taylor was born in Govan, a district of Glasgow, in 1883 . He began his career with the Glasgow Rangers , for which he played until 1910. Taylor moved to Bradford City in England that same year . With the Bantams he won the final of the FA Cup against Newcastle United on April 26, 1911 . Just seven months after winning the Cup, Taylor moved from England to Burnley FC . He played with the Weinroten until the 1920s , winning the FA Cup in 1914 and the English championship in 1921 . During his time at Burnley , Taylor played briefly as a guest player with the Glasgow Rangers and Celtic Glasgow . Just before he his contract with Celtic had signed on 31 December 1918 he was temporarily in the artillery in World War I in use. With Celtic he won the championship in Scotland in the season 1918/19 . He completed four more games after his debut in the Old Firm derby against the Rangers on January 1, 1919. In the summer of 1919 he suffered a heart attack from which he was able to recover. After Taylor ended his playing career in Burnley in the 1920s, he became a coach. He worked for St. Johnstone FC , Dunfermline Athletic and Carlisle United . Taylor died in Bridge of Allan in 1949 at the age of 65 .
