David Weisbart

David Weisbart (born January 21, 1915 in Los Angeles , California , † July 21, 1967 there ) was an American film editor and film producer .

Life

Weisbart began working as an editor in 1942. Up until his last film Endstation Sehnsucht from 1951, he worked in the field of film editing in 21 productions, including several films by Michael Curtiz . With the making of the film Mara Maru from 1952, Weisbart turned to film production. As a producer, he was involved in around 30 productions.

In 1967 he was involved as a producer and screenwriter on the television series Colonel Custer .

In 1949 Weisbart received an Oscar nomination in the Best Editing category for his work on Silent Lips .
