De Brimeu, called Florimond, Seigneur de Maizicourt († after May 13, 1384), his mother was a daughter of Hugues de Créquy-Raimboval. It first appeared in a document in 1403. During the conflict between the French king and the Duke of Burgundy ( civil war between the Armagnacs and Bourguignons 1410–1419), David and his brothers held court offices on both sides, first with the king and later with the duke:

  • Guillaume III. (called Florimond II, X 1408) was a French chamberlain
  • Jean (called Athis, † 1420) was a French chamberlain and Burgundian councilor and chamberlain
  • David was French councilor and chamberlain, captain of the Louvre , Bailli von Hesdin , and Burgundian governor of Arras, as well as maître d'hôtel of the duke and member of the Grand Conseil

On January 10, 1430, David, his younger brother Jacques and his nephew Colart (who called himself Florimond III) - Guillaume, Colart's father, and Jean had already died - were accepted as founding members of the Order of the Golden Fleece.

He was married four times, but died without offspring; his wives were Marguerite de Montagu, Marie de Montauban, Marie de Montmor and Jeanne de Châtillon (-sur-Marne).

David de Brimeu, Seigneur de Ligny, is to be distinguished from his cousin David de Brimeu, Seigneur de Humbercourt , who was also a Burgundian and French councilor and chamberlain and Burgundian governor of Arras, but died in 1427.
