history
Founded Days in Paradise by Patrick Freisinger ( vocals , guitar ) and Philipp Wurzinger ( drums ) in the summer of 2006. Shortly thereafter, in early 2007 pushed Alexander Hitthaler (vocals, guitar) joined the band after he Freisinger some early demo recordings of the band had been auditioned and was immediately convinced. Inspired Days in Paradise , especially in the initial phase of Blink-182 , Sum 41 or Good Charlotte . Their sound is also strongly based on the Californian Orange County style. While the lyrics from the founding to the first album were in English, Days in Paradise then decided to switch to German lyrics, which Freisinger commented in an interview as follows: “It's easier for us to write. You can express yourself better in your mother tongue and we just like it better. Singing in English, even though we are actually still in school and not very good at grammar, is not the real thing either. (laughs) We like German better. The style that we do with German texts is not that common in Austria. "
The band 's first album, It's Time To , was self-distributed in 2007 and the first and only edition of 500 copies quickly sold out during live performances.
The greatest success in this early phase came with winning the Kleine Zeitung band contest in 2007, after which Days in Paradise were able to appear in front of 8,000 people in the opening act of the TV show The Dome 44 in Graz. This was followed by a club tour through Austria and Germany.
In 2008 the band teamed up with their producer friend Thomas Konrad, who had produced Guadalajara , among other things . In the course of this production it was decided to only use German texts and so the material for the second album Zu allesready was created .
In 2009, Days in Paradise won the Volksbank's cult band contest, which was endowed with a single release by the major label Universal Music Austria. The A&R manager Ulrich Raab, responsible for Days in Paradise at Universal Music , decided to sign the band for an album.
In addition to the appearance at The Dome in July 2009 , Days in Paradise had the greatest live successes with two appearances in front of around 3,000 spectators at Summersplash , Austria's largest high school graduation trip, where they shared the stage with the rock band Excuse Me Moses .
In the summer of 2010, Days in Paradise started to record their third studio album Unknown from radio and television , which was released on November 26, 2011 in the Vienna studio “Westbahnstudios” with their producer Thomas Konrad. From November 2011 to March 2012 they presented their new album on a tour that took them across Austria. For the rest of 2012, some concerts, including well-known festivals in Austria, are planned.
On September 15, 2012 the band played their last concert for the time being and the band members are currently devoting themselves to new projects. Freisi plays with the Carinthian pop-punk band Thirteen Days, Alex plays with the Rockabillies and Dominik Pallik now plays with the befriended band Big and Loaded.
