history
The band took its name from the character "The Wolf" from the film Pulp Fiction , played by Harvey Keitel . DeWolff won first prize in a nationwide talent competition in 2008. In August of that year they got a record deal . At the time, drummer Luka van de Poel was only 14, guitarist Pablo van de Poel 16, keyboardist Robin Piso 17. Concerts in the Amsterdam Paradiso followed 2010 first appearances in Belgium and Germany , including at the Crossroads Festival in Bonn , where she for the Rockpalast the WDR were taken. The Rockpalast website attests DeWolff to "shake the world with wild, psychedelic sixties blues rock". The three Dutchmen take the listener "to a time when Led Zeppelin , Cream , Pink Floyd and Deep Purple ruled the world".
The trio's final breakthrough came with their second album Orchards / Lupine , a "psychedelic classic of the modern age". On the B-side of DeWolff IV (2012) DeWolff published A Mind Slip, a “mini rock opera ” with which they also offered “the full psychedelic board” live. This was followed in 2014 by Grand Southern Electric , on which the band "intensified the history of US Southern Rock ".
The sixth studio album was released in 2016, Roux-Ga-Roux , which also received critical acclaim. Klaus Bornemann wrote at BetreutesProggen.de : "DeWolff celebrate US Southern Rock with a cultivated mood [...] Every second of the 51 minutes is just pure joy." Roman Jasiek speaks of a "joy festival for classic / psychedelic" at avalost.de -Rock fans ", inspiring with" incredible creativity and joy of playing ".
DeWolff run their own studio , Electrosaurus Southern Sound Studio , in Utrecht and the label Electrosaurus Records .
