The province of Zeeland in the Netherlands

De Banjaard is a bungalow park northwest of Kamperland . The name is derived from a dreaded sandbank in the north. "De Banjaard" consists of two parts, the old part "Oude Banjaard", created in 1959 with a street in the shape of an eight (Vinkenlaan and Patrijzenlaan) and an extension. Banjaardstrand, one of the cleanest in the Netherlands, lies between the Veerse Dam, which was closed in 1961 and connects the former island of Noord-Beveland with Walcheren, and the 9 km long storm surge barrier Oosterscheldekering, which has been connecting Noord-Beveland with Schouwen-Duiveland since October 1986 .

Adjacent to "De Banjaard", the "Villa Park" "Noordzee Résidence De Banjaard" was built from 1997 to 1998 according to the planning and design of Matthijs Zeelenberg, after whom several settlements of this type are named. Today it consists of around 600 holiday apartments and a shopping center in the middle of the settlement. The walls of the houses are partially covered with plastic , which protects against the aggressive sea air.

Transport and leisure activities

"De Banjaard" is located on Rijksweg 57 between Middelburg and Rotterdam . In the north of the settlement there is a beach to the North Sea . There is a bicycle rental facility , a restaurant and a swimming pool with various wellness offers on the estate.
