The de Havilland Gipsy Minor or Gipsy Junior is an air-cooled four-cylinder in- line engine from the British manufacturer de Havilland Aircraft Company . It was mainly used in the de Havilland Moth Minor . Both were built in the late 1930s.

development and construction

The engine is a simplified and smaller version of the de Havilland Gipsy . It only has one magnet , while the Gipsy series usually has two magnets. A total of 171 examples of the engine were built. 100 of these were produced in Australia , where production was relocated after the start of World War II .
