De Hutzenbossen

De Hutzenbossen are a folk music group from the Ore Mountains . It was founded in 2005 in Pobershau .

Career

Peter Kreißl (* 1963) and Andreas Tiede (* 1970) gained a large part of their musical experience in the Christian country band "Profil", with whom they toured Germany for 20 years. In December 2005 they founded the folk music duo "De Hutzenbossen". The band "Profil" broke up in November 2008.

meaning

The name Hutzenbossen is derived from the Erzgebirge tradition of "Hutzenwalking". On long winter evenings, the neighbors would gather in a different house and spend hours telling stories, carving, making lace and eating together. In doing so, they could save heating at home. "Bosses" are what the young men are called in the Ore Mountains.

Music genre

"Hutzen-Peter" and "Hutzen-Andreas" interpret Ore Mountain folk music in a modern way. They play traditional songs in Ore Mountain dialect and their own titles. Peter Kreißl sings, moderates, plays guitar, trumpet and baritone horn . He also wrote and composed some typical Hutzenbossen songs. Andreas Tiede is a singer and plays the accordion, Styrian harmonica and keyboard. He arranges and manages the duo.
