De Vennip was an independent municipality in the area of ​​today's municipalities Hillegom and Haarlemmermeer .

De Vennip has belonged to the Hillegom municipality since January 1, 1812. On April 1, 1817, the area in the province of South Holland became an independent municipality, which was added again to the municipality of Hillegom on August 15, 1855. Today this area belongs partly to the municipality of Hillegom and partly to the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, which belongs to the province of North Holland .

The island of Beinsdorp and a small area east of Hillegom belonged to the municipality.

Specialty

De Vennip was a municipality that at times had no inhabitants. In 1849, 13 residents were counted. There was another unpopulated congregation, the temple , but this one throughout its existence.

From the Dutch Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek , the dissolved municipality received the CBS no. 1385.
